The original selection of photographs, the excellent printing quality of the large size pictures and the extensive captions, supplying as many details as possible about the depicted persons and buildings, lift this book far above the level of the average postcard book, as applies for the other publications of De Koning Gans.
Many houses, churches and other buildings can be seen in the book, but on almost every page people are busy doing something. Whether intended or not, that makes the book a real tribute to the Scheveningers.
